| Cellar Tanking |
 |
With cellars and basements that are below ground, there is always a risk of water penetrating through the walls and/or the floor. In an un-converted cellar, this normally evaporates and only occasionally is there any evidence of water present. As soon as it is used for a room, however, moisture spoils furnishings and even stored boxes. Tanking is a means of ensuring that this moisture does not enter through the walls or the floor into the internal environment, and when coupled with proper heating and ventilating, a "dry" room can be created. Dampness below ground, is treated by one of our tanking systems, either a solid cementitious system applied to sound clean brick walls, or by an air-gap membrane system which can be applied over more or less any surface including the installation of a sump and pump.
All our works are carried out to meet the requirements of British Standard 8102 for Structural Waterproofing, using proprietary systems. Tanking works are covered by a ten year Guarantee and an insurance Guarantee option is also available. Real peace of mind, for what often amounts to a significant investment.
Many people use these areas for studies, teenagers' dens, or even guest rooms. Have a look at some photographs of recent works, and see what can be achieved.
