Condensations

Condensation is caused by moisture vapour held in warm air, dropping out when it meets a cold surface. Like a mirror in a bathroom, where moist warm air from your bath or shower condenses on the relatively cold surface of the mirror glass. Adults create about 5 litres of moisture vapour each in a typical day and with modern houses that are draught proofed and have windows and doors that fit, no open fire places and fitted carpets, there is very little opportunity for this moisture vapour to escape.

Condensation is often found on single glazed windows, but when double glazing is fitted, the moisture vapour simply condenses on the next coldest surface. Typically, this might be the top and bottom corner of a room on the outside walls, inside a fitted wardrobe that is against an outside wall, or behind furniture that is not moved often - like the bed for example.

Curing condensation can be achieved by balancing a mix of ventilation, heating and insulating, but with a modern lifestyle this is not always practical. Condensation within a family home can be cured simply by fitting a Postive Input Ventilation unit in the loft, and there are units suited to flats as well.

We are experts in timber treatment, condensation cures, damp proofing and cellar conversions. We work in London and throughout the Home Counties area, mainly in Essex and Hertfordshire. Our work is carried out by our own staff and is usually backed by a long-term insurance-backed guarantee.   Condensation leads to streaming windows, musty smells and black mould. Mould grows on walls, decorations and fabrics, and can adversely affect health.   RegencyHDT
